Additional learning support

At our school, we ensure every student is ready to learn. We support students with disability and additional learning needs so they can take part in all areas of school life. You do not need a formal diagnosis for your child to receive support in a mainstream class. Support can begin at any stage of school.

Support that fits your child's needs

Some students need extra support to feel confident and do their best at school. We work closely with families to make support plans and adjustments  that suits each child’s needs.

Additional learning support can include:

Requesting External Services at School

To engage external therapist support at Bundanoon Public School:

Step 1:

Parents please fill in the Request for External Therapy Service Provision in School Form - also in the School Bytes Parent Portal (under Forms). A meeting will then be scheduled between school staff and parents/carers to discuss service delivery.

If the school is in agreement with the request, progress to step 2.

Step 2:

The office then contacts the therapist requesting all documents.

  1. An external provider agreement
  2. Current child protection training (must be done every year)
  3. Declaration for Child Related Workers.

Therapists must read:

  1. Code of Conduct policy
  2. Controversial issues in schools policies and procedures
  3. Allegations against employees in the area of child protection.

Therapists must provide evidence of:

  1. Public liability for at least $20 million
  2. Personal indemnity for at least $2 million
  3. Workers compensation or insurance
  4. Completed child protection training - for current year
  5. Photo ID

Step 3:

The School will send an email to the therapist, teacher and parent.

After a suitable time has been negotiated therapy can commence.

Therapy is not to commence until therapists have received an email or phone call approving the request.

This process is to be completed at the beginning of each school year.
